Choose Your Discomfort
Living Intentionally With Joyful Movement, Mindful Eating, And Habitual Self Care.
Choose Your Discomfort, is my transformation story, from people-pleasing and disordered eating to living intentionally and joyfully, and all the experiences, lessons, and skills I’ve developed along the way.
About the book
A self-help memoir by Andrea Ruth Troughton
In a hyper-fixated movement that talks about the power of discomfort, we are sorely missing guidance and relevance on the subject. In this book, Andrea provides a map, a history, and a way through in her area of expertise.
Have you ever felt like you were only worthy of love or respect if you looked a certain way, behaved a certain way, or achieved a certain level of success? Do you let other people’s opinions of you determine how you feel about yourself? Do you stress about what you eat, how much you exercise, or what your body looks like?
Girl, same. Or at least I used to. These days I give a lot fewer fucks, about how the outside world sees me, and I have never been happier. I know it sounds a bit cliché, and if you’re a people pleaser, like me, the idea of foregoing other people’s opinions entirely, sounds super uncomfortable, but sometimes, we need to get uncomfortable, in order to really get comfortable.
